Enilive is acquiring the OIL! filling station network with around 320 locations in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Denmark. The acquisition not only strengthens the company’s market presence in Central Europe, but could also significantly accelerate the expansion of HVO100.

Enilive is already one of Europe’s leading suppliers of renewable fuels and offers its own HVO100 product, HVOlution, which is already available through a growing network of filling stations in Italy and Germany. The integration of the OIL! locations now creates an opportunity to gradually expand this offering into additional markets. Existing filling stations can be adapted for HVO100 comparatively easily, as the fuel can be stored and dispensed using existing infrastructure.

For Germany in particular, this is an interesting development. Although an increasing number of vehicle manufacturers approve HVO100 and demand from the transport, logistics and fleet sectors is growing, the number of available filling stations remains limited. An established operator with several hundred locations could help significantly increase the availability of HVO and make access easier for both commercial and private users.

At the same time, the acquisition shows that competition in the European fuel market is increasingly shifting towards the question of who provides the infrastructure for renewable fuels. Alongside production capacity, the expansion of filling station networks is therefore becoming a key factor in driving the market penetration of HVO100.
