The BMW Group is focusing on innovative fuels to reduce CO₂ emissions. From January 2025, all diesel models produced in Germany will be factory-filled with HVO100. This 100% biofuel, made from waste and renewable raw materials, reduces new CO₂ emissions by up to 90% compared to fossil diesel.

The manufacturer’s approval for HVO100 has now been comprehensively granted and applies to BMW diesel vehicles produced from March 2015 that comply with the European standard EN 15940. Customers can easily check their vehicle’s compatibility.

Since May 2024, HVO100 has been approved at German fuel stations. The fuel offers technical advantages such as improved cold weather performance and protection against diesel pest. It contains neither palm oil nor conventional biodiesel.

With the introduction of HVO100, BMW is making a strong commitment to renewable energy and driving the transformation towards sustainable mobility.
